Cisco Systems Inc plans to spend $1.1bn to boost the networking-equipment maker's operations in India. Of that amount, $750m will be used to finance research and development at a Bangalore-based facility. According to John Chambers, Cisco's chief executive, the company may expand the number of its employees in India by 200% from its current workforce of 1,400.
